About the role
Ontology Africa is seeking a skilled Community Manager to grow and engage the African Web3 community, focusing on developers, enterprises, and end-users. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of blockchain, digital identity, and Web3 culture, with experience in community management and a passion for decentralization, user control, and privacy. This role will be responsible for community growth, education, events, and feedback loops to the product team.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a community growth strategy to increase active users and developer adoption
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in the African Web3 community
- Create and curate educational content to promote understanding of blockchain, digital identity, and Web3 culture
- Organize and host events, webinars, and workshops to engage the community and promote Ontology Africa's products
- Establish feedback loops to the product team to ensure community needs are met
- Monitor and analyze community sentiment and adjust strategies accordingly
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align community goals with business objectives
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in community management, preferably in the blockchain or Web3 space
- Deep understanding of blockchain, digital identity, and Web3 culture
- Experience in community growth, education, and event planning
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team
- Familiarity with African tech ecosystems and Web3 communities
Preferred experience
- Experience with community management tools and platforms
- Knowledge of marketing and social media strategies
- Familiarity with Ontology Africa's products and technology stack
